MARE MIKOF
Mare Mikof (1941) is one of Estonia’s leading contemporary sculptors. She started her career at the beginning of the 1970s and she was driven by hyperrealism and pop art, which in her works mixed with a grotesque depiction of man.
Mikof has created several well-known public sculptures: the sculpture ensemble to celebrate the birth of the 100 000th Tartu resident (1977), monumets in Pärnu to Paul Keres (1996) and Jüri Vilms (2005), “Dusk” near Viru Centre to name but a few. Mikof received the Order of the White Star, 4th class.
